On September 16, St. Petersburg hosted a round table titled "Continuous Cold Chain: International Logistics of Fish Products" as part of the 9th International Fishery Forum and Exhibition (Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia 2026). The event was organized by CCTT in cooperation with the Association of Food Sector Enterprises and Expo Solutions Group.
The discussion was moderated by Natalia Stepanova, Deputy Secretary General of CCTT, and Mikhail Sinev, President of the Association of Food Sector Organizations (ASORPS). Participants included representatives of FESCO, Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port, MOSTEC, ANTEY Group, the Dalian Free Trade Zone Administration, and chef and food production technologist Evgeny Meshcheryakov.
The experts highlighted key trends in the global fish trade: the growth of aquaculture (accounting for approximately 55% of all fish intended for human consumption), rising prices driven by inflation and reduced catch quotas, China's role as a processing hub, the reorientation of Russian exports to the markets of China, India, Brazil, Egypt, and the UAE, logistics risks at key transport chokepoints, and the impact of climate change on catch volumes and pricing.
Participants emphasized that maintaining the integrity of the continuous cold chain is a critical factor in preserving the quality of fish products during international transport. The parties noted the need for continued dialogue between government, business, and industry associations to build a sustainable supply system.
CCTT will continue to promote international cooperation in trans-Eurasian transportation, including the transport of perishable products.
