International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) is an international non-commercial transport association, registered in the Main Register of the Canton of Bern (Switzerland) as of 1997, February 21, under the number CHE – 108.607.583.
The founders of CCTT are the Ministry of Railways of Russia (since 2003 OJSC "Russian Railways" as legal successor), DB AG, Group of European Trans-Eurasian Operators and Forwarders (GETO), Korean International Freight Forwarders Association (KIFFA).
Currently CСTT has more than 80 members from 20 countries.
The core objectives of CCTT
- Attracting transit and foreign trade freights for Trans-Eurasian routes, crossing the territory of Russia, including ITC East—West, North—South.
- Coordinating the activities of freight transportation companies in land and sea segments of Trans-Eurasian routes in international traffic to ensure high-quality delivery of freights and development of economic relations between the Asia-Pacific, South-East Asia, ASEAN, BRICS, Central Asia, CIS, Baltic and European countries.
CCTT mission and areas of activities
CCTT is an international platform for cooperation and interaction of the participants of foreign trade activities and Trans-Eurasian transportation to ensure efficient information exchange and attractive conditions for seamless supply chains and development of transport and logistics business.
CCTT brings together a wide range of participants working in Trans-Eurasian transportation or related activities, with proper business reputation, solid financial status, and necessary professional competences.
Members of CCTT are governmental agencies, companies, organisations from transport and logistics industries, information technologies, marketing, analytics and consulting, science and education, security and other sectors of the economy, interacting with transport complex; named above are committed to build a system of reliable and sustainable Trans-Eurasian connections with consideration of their own objectives and priorities, set by the governing bodies.
CCTT has articulated a vast agenda covering the development of International Transport Corridors East — West — East, North — South, strengthening their competitiveness through upgrade of the infrastructure, attracting investments, more effective measures for managing the transportation process, flexible tariff policy, introducing electronic document flow, ensuring protection of freights, building smart logistics, ensuring reliable and flawless service.
Working together within CCTT, including exchange of the best practices, effectively addressing operational interaction matters, participation in project activities, scientific and research and analytical work, the members of the Council prioritise the development of container services with due regard to global and regional industry trends, including:
- Higher level of containerization of transportation and its wider geographical coverage;
- Development of multimodality;
- Wider implementation of digital solutions, including those using the global navigation satellite systems, as well as intellectual transport systems;
- Consolidation of efforts / bringing together the market players to address the tasks;
- Promoting eco-friendly technologies;
- Improving quality of provided services and ensuring higher level of trust towards railroad transportation;
- Reducing delivery time and processing time for container trains at border crossings;
- Facilitating to increase the number of container trains on railway junctions;
- Optimizing pricing for services on all stages of transportation;
- Development of transportation of international mailing and e-commerce goods;
- Necessary simplification of administrative procedures at border crossings in international railway transportation in the Eurasian space;
- Requirements to transportation safety;
- Promoting transport and logistics services of the CCTT members in the international transport services market.
In the context of worldwide work to address the global objectives and tasks, the practical activities of CCTT contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including the following areas:
- Facilitating the development of railroad transport as a sustainable, innovative, and safe mode of transport;
- Strengthening the trans-border aspect of development of railroad and multimodal transportation;
- Facilitating the development of railroad transportation as an important element of foreign economic relations to cover the needs of the economy and the society, providing stable and sustainable supply chains.
